MUM

Our mum was the definition of 'mum'. Her love, care, affection and understanding knew no bounds. She was always there for us with advice, help, practically if she could and just for a chat.
I've lost count the number of times I phoned her and an hour later, realised we got side-tracked and were busy chatting.
There are so many things we will miss about her - from her pottering around in the garden, to her delicious cooking, to her giving us advice about the kids and more importantly, her just being there, listening, taking on advice herself and admitting that she didn't always have the answers.
She was a nanni to 4 wonderful children who respected and loved her and a mother-in-law to 2 sons who she praised repeatedly and very much loved as sons. She admired them and appreciated everything they did for her around the house and garden, odd jobs and any help they gave. She loved them and got the same love and respect back from them.
With her illness, mum proved again and again how strong she was. The patience she had and her faith kept her so strong that we all admired her for it. Her strength and dignity has been amazing. Even the district nurses and palliative care team admired her resilience and acceptance and always found an aura of serene and peace around her. She always kept her dignity throughout the very difficult times which kept us going to be there for her no matter what.
Mahnaz and Sabeen have been there every step of the way - emotionally, physically, mentally - and never once complained. They took everything on and just dealt with it which gave me the reliability and reassurance with being far away.
They have been absolutely amazing and I know, in time, they will feel fulfilled at being able to support, love and be there for our mum every step of the way. Because of these two, mum got exactly what she wanted - being at home, in her room with her loved ones nearby.
Each and every family member, including the children, made mum's funeral special and every one took part in a way that we will always cherish and remember.
In times of difficulty, pain, illness, sadness and happiness, we will always think of mum. She will always be in our hearts, mind and thoughts. We love you mum, always have and always will. We miss you loads. May you rest in peace and be looked after by your loved ones xxx
